The 4th December 1986 was the Golden day of Mr. Banan who entered Capital City of Delhi with his new concept of Restaurant "SAGAR" in a deserted, sleepy and unknown market of Defence colony. The seating capacity of the restaurant was only 40. It was the hardwork, dedication, Personal attention, motivation, broad vision of Mr. Banan made him to reap the result very fast. With in a short period of one year the SAGAR spread its waves all over Delhi with their most affordable south Indian Snacks for the mass and class. The clients from all over Delhi throng Defence Colony and Patiently wait hours together to bite the authentic taste of Dosas at SAGAR.

Mr. Jayaram quickly realised the need of the hour and increased the capacity to existing 225 sittings. But still the waiting continues and it is a craze for the customers to wait and enjoy the personal hospitality of Mr. Jayaram Banan.

With the best effort and hard work of Mr. Jayaram the group has now grown and consolidated under the umbrella " SAGAR RATNA HOTELS PVT.LTD" taking the mantle in his hand as chairman and managing Director of the Empire.

Further Mr. Banan has also started Multi Cuisine Restaurant with Bar under the Brand name of "SWAGATH" which is famous for coastal Food, Chettinad Food and specialty Mughlai & Chinese cuisine. With just span of 3 years Swagath has become popular brand in Delhi and won 3 awards for best Coastal Food instituted by M/s. Times of India on 21st November'2004, India Today and Hindustan Times during January'2005.

In addition to the above prestigious restaurants Mr. Jayaram Banan is managing the Industrial Canteen at the Prestigious factories at Ghaziabad/ Delhi.
